The holding company is owned by descendants of Carl F. Petersen, who started the building fittings company Carl F A/S in year 1881. Carl F A/S have since the beginning been the head company of the development the group has gone through.
In the year 1970 the group purchased J. Junget Træbearbejdningsmaskiner A/S – the current Junget A/S with headquarter in the town of Århus. During the development of Carl F A/S the real-estate company was established – which is the owner of the main part of the business places Carl F A/S runs their daily work from.

In connection with the strong development in Carl F A/S – especially since the end of the nineties – there was a huge need for strong investments and a change of strategic focus to drive this development further. The board and the owners of the company took therefore the difficult decision that the main company –Carl F A/S – would be better of in another ownership.
Carl F A/S was therefore sold to Sanistål A/S the 1st of January 2007.
In connection with the sale of Carl F A/S - the Holding Company were obliged to chance name from Carl F Petersen Holding A/S to the present CFP Group A/S.
